A happy home

5 Dec

One way to easily change the look and feel of ones home is with a new set of illustrations or prints.

I have gone from black and white themed, to quirky and a little offbeat, to just plain beautiful with the pictures I adorn on our walls. (Plus one of my favourite things about changing up our space is to watch how long it takes my husband to realize there is something new in our home. It once took him three months to spot the ‘new’ illustration; I call these episodes “Looking at life through man goggles”).

Here are some of my creations.

The write stuff

1 Dec

It has been a while since I last posted anything, which means there are lots of weird and wonderful new creations I am able to share with you.

My notebook collection has steadily been growing, with each new design neatly placed alongside the others adorning my bookshelves.

Some of them are quirky, others are meant to inspire, but all will hopefully one day be filled with big dreams and great ideas.

The gentlemen’s club

8 May

I enjoy creating things that put a smile onto peoples faces and what better material than flamingos. They are such funny, gangly and quirky creatures that I just had to draw them. I hope you enjoy my latest little illustration “The gentlemen’s club”.

some pretty prints

26 Nov

Every now and again there occurs a rare and wonderful moment, when I wake up with a burst of creativity.

Over the weekend I was blessed with one of these mornings and I drew these three illustrated prints, which were promptly framed and hung all around our home.

gift tags

21 Nov

I love wrapping gifts!

I get such a kick out of having wrapping paper, twine, ribbon and washi tape strewn all around me, patiently waiting for me to turn them into something pretty.

The only thing missing were little gift tags and so I created these…

There exists a certain type of person among us that gets a little crazy about collecting particular objects. I have seen people (and possibly done so myself) do a little dance and utter a squeal of delight when they stumble upon yet another bunny or bird to ad to their collection. And I sheepishly confess that I too am a little obsessed, in particular with polar bears and foxes.

I had already created my little origami fox brooch, but for the true collector, one item just isn’t enough, so I came up with this little fox while I was doodling one morning. Let me introduce you to… Julian the fox.

a new addition

23 Sep

Friends of ours have just recently had a wonderful little addition to their little family and as I seem to have trees on my brain at the moment, I decided to make them a little tree gift.

I thought it might be a rather fun idea to draw them their very own family tree.

A little side note:

I found this particular design for a family tree amidst my excessively large folder of DIY images, but sadly cannot cite the original creator as (after searching the web fruitlessly for over an hour) I came out empty handed.
